4 Types of Bitcoin Wallet you need to know

Recommended Posts

Nice post, I think that the hardware wallet is the best wallet for storing large amounts of cryptocurrencies, because if offers the most security and also, it will be very hard for hackers to break into your physical  wallet, unless they steal it in real life, but then you also have a passcode on it, so it's so secure.

Ledger Nano and Trezor still be the best wallets for me to save all cryptocurrency, but I don't just to use that wallet only because I still save some coins and tokens in the MEW and the Jaxx and Coinomi. But I keep my most coins into Ledger and Trezor because it's very safe for me and I don't have to be afraid of the hacker attacking.

A majority of new Bitcoin users decide to leave their Bitcoin’s in online cryptocurrency exchange wallets such as Coinbase. While this is convenient, you are not keeping your cryptocurrency secure.
Private keys ultimately decide who owns the Bitcoin. When Bitcoin is left in a wallet like Coinbase they hold your private key for you.
If you want to use your Bitcoin to transact, consider also having a hot wallet.
Hot wallets are typically software wallets that store lesser amounts of Bitcoin. These are great for spending Bitcoin on everyday items.

Every person has to have good knowledge of wallet before using crypto. If he does not have good knowledge of wallet then he will not be able to deposit his bitcoin properly and it is necessary to know which is the best and most reliable. So every person needs to know at least four wallets to store Bitcoin.

We often talk much about which wallet to use, which one is convenient to use, which one is secure, etc. I am going to share 4 types of bitcoin wallet and their features shortly.

1. Web Wallet
This is very well known to use- Coinbase, blockchain.com etc. Web wallets are very risky to use. They can be hacked any time.

2. Software Wallet
Software wallets are like bitcoin core, Electrum, Mycelium etc. These are also connected online but not web wallet. These wallets have benefits of holding seed key or private keys, These are better for daily using of BTC. Not much better for long term though.

3. Hardware Wallet
Hardware wallets are cold storage where you can hold the private key safely. This is very much recommended for long term holding of bitcoins. Example like- Ledger Nano, Keepkey etc.

4. Paper Wallet
Paper wallets are very cheapest methods for having the been fits of cold storage. It's holding the private key in a paper. This is very easier method of storing bitcoin.

Please share you thoughts.

You mentioned good information's for paper wallets, i actually know the top three types of wallets but i was confused about the paper wallet, personally i use the online or the web wallet for holding my coins.

That is, as I understand it, if the funds will not be on my wallet for long, it is better to use the Web wallet, the Software wallet will be more secure. I think, for the sake of security, if the money in your wallet is kept for some time, it is better to use the Software wallet

A wonderful detail between the differences.
For me I use Trust Wallet, I understood that you would classify it as a Web Portfolio.
But I hope you explain more why this type is considered unsafe.

Still my I was unknown about the types and I always talk about " which is best to use" and your post outline the most important features that most people miss. Now I can surely say that paper and hardware wallet are best for storing your coins as they strongly resist your coins from being hacked as they are store cold.
