Why some people think long term holding is bad?

it is a wrong thinking. You can't lose yours money with Long holding if you love take some risk you should choose the short activities.

Only a trader can say this. I'll explain why he thinks so. For a trader, trading cryptocurrencies is earnings, coins should not lie somewhere in the wallet and wait when  the price should rise to the sky. He always has cryptocurrency in trade. Another thing is if you are a simple user and want to protect yourself from possible financial losses and are confident in the stability of the bitcoin cryptocurrency, you can buy it (just not at the peak of its value) and let it lie.

What!! Why would anyone think that . I myself am a long term holder and I see it's completely logical . We all can agree that bitcoin has a great potential and will increase in future but also crypto's like ETH , DOGE , TRX , DASH etc. which have been on the top of crypto charts for years now have good potential . See, it depends how good of a trader you are . Good long-term traders not want to invest in a coin and they mostly do it at their lowest price points so that they are generally not in any loss And are just waiting for their investment to increase to a point they are happy selling it on. also the traders that are doing long-term training and are holding on their losses , I can understand their point of view too.  sometimes you just know That The market is in a bit of slump and you know once the market covers your investments would be at their normal or even better prises then what you invested in and hence can make profits from losses.

It is the real big thing if you are  a newbie in crypto, just buy a strong coin when its price was down and weit for that project will be developed. I recommend ethereum and iota.. just start buying every time you can and wait a couple of years

It depends on the situation of each one, some operate in the short term and others in the long term, that varies a lot from what the person requires, personally I think that long-term btc is a very good investment

Yes, stocks are quite risky even in the long run. The old consensus wisdom that stocks are less risky (or even low risk) in the long run is somewhat deceptive since uncertainty about mean returns over your future horizon can offset the reduction in risk due to mean reversion. People tend to only consider the second factor and automatically believe that as long as you have a "long" horizon that holding stocks becomes less risky. (Btw you can't rely solely on historical calculations since they don't capture the first factor.)

The key of holding is to hold the right coins. If the coins are worthless now they will be worthless in a year or two as well. Everybody should pick very careful the coins that is investing to.

In long-term it's great (10 years+)

But if u use many u'd like to be able to use

It's not always possible to take them (cause fixing loses is not nice))

 

So it's OK if

- you u put in the sum you don't need to touch

- understand that you should hold long-term

- understand that there cycles ( time when to buy and time to sell)

- also I should know what price will u sell

With holding you anticipating that the price will go up forever (until you sell). That can be to late, when the price drops fast and doesn't return to its old value.

With trading you have the chance that you are trading with your emotions instead of your wisdom and technical analysis.

So both have its pros and cons

I prefer short-term trading. as for me it is more profitable and also it is less risky. Although on the other hand short-term trading takes more time, but allows you to make money on both falling and rising prices

I don't think long-term investments are bad, they just have their downsides, just like short-term investments. Long or short has its own benefits as well. The point to all this is that some who, I suppose, prefer to buy cheap and then wait for the btc to rise to sell it, as is well known, although they can extend the term until the btc rises much more but ends up falling. My opinion is that everything is risky and full of possibilities.

Holding is not advisable when the price is climbing very fast. Holding a bit long during this stage may lead to a regret for ever holding anything. When you realize the price has climbed to its peak, just sell. As simple as that.
