It is the Bitcoin protocol or regulator for its purpose of existence, and it is similar to smart contracts in Ethereum Or in simple terms, it is what constitutes Bitcoin and gives it the purpose and the mechanism to work and use.

Hello, we know that when Satoshi Nakamoto presented the whitepaper of his cryptocurrency to the world, it did not attract attention and the truth is that few people saw any kind of utility in this striking piece of technology in its beginnings as it happens in many new currencies,

But this situation was due in large part to how unfriendly the Bitcoin system was.

To know what its use was, you had to have some knowledge in computing, all in order to be able to compile the software and run it on a computer, the Bitcoin software at that time was quite rudimentary and used a simple console to perform commands. In short, it was not at all usable for an average user.

Bitcoin Core is a client for connecting to the Bitcoin network, raising a node, and validating blocks. The creators of the program are an independent group of developers. They make decisions based on what is best for the Bitcoin ecosystem and taking into account the interests of all parties: users, miners, exchanges, and wallet providers. These developers support the network, write updates and protocols aimed at improving the Bitcoin blockchain.

However, Bitcoin Core is also a wallet. You can only use it to upload the entire network block chain to your computer. When you install it, your computer becomes part of the network and stores one of the many thousands of copies of the blockchain synchronized with other nodes. However, it costs about 145 gigabytes on the hard disk and takes up a little computing resources of the computer. The wallet also helps distribute transactions to other users.

Nice, liked and you deserved it you have given a good explanation of what exactly Bitcoin Core is because many people don't know this. So don't feel strange when you listen to someone saying Bitcoin Core, he means the implementation.

The birth of Bitcoin Core or Bitcoin Core Wallet as a proper project took place on January 9, 2009. This with the publication of version 0.1.0 by Nakamoto. But the project took a more formal point with the opening of its development repositories on GitHub and the release of the 0.1.5 code. At that time, figures like Gavin Andresen were already part of the project as active developers of the project.

With the publication of the code on GitHub, the development of Bitcoin Core grew exponentially. In fact, during its first year the development of Bitcoin Core was accelerated. The work of characters like Nakamoto and Andresen mainly focused on fixing known problems and including new functionalities. Everything would change when Nakamoto in 2010 decided to leave the project in the hands of Gavin Andresen and disappear never to return.

The decision to leave the Bitcoin Core project in the hands of Andresen was positive. Andresen is a professional software developer, which Nakamoto was not, as many specialists have pointed out. This first change in the leadership of the project evolved the quality of the Bitcoin software. Andresen's first great effort was to create a sustainable code base over time. He succeeded by rewriting more than half of Nakamoto's original code. From then on, the Bitcoin Core development community would start to grow the project more and more.
