What do you think about Hedge Funds?

I recently invested publicly in one of the hedge funds (all my review on Russian, but i'll translate that later). My invest period is 1 month and after that i'll receive from 1 ETH - 0.05 ETH. On many Russian sources this fund is positioned as a scam, but at the German forum everyone exchanges their profit and all users invited to invest everyone, and I decided to try that ( German community is about 3,000 people). Why did I decide to do this? I read a lot about various hedge funds on Wikipedia and I was shocked by their possible profitability. It seemed to me that this is really a hedge fund, and if so, then i can make good money on it, but still I lack confidence. (What also attracted me was the lack of feedback that someone wasn't paid). Has anyone participated in such hedge funds?
