Thank you for the question, negative reputation is as a result of a bad post, a post is said to be bad if the poster copy another memebes' post, making a post that is not anyway relating to the content you're commenting to, while a positive reputation on the other hand is a post that is of a very good quality, it dose not involved plagiarism, it is detailed and pointing towards the content of the original post he/she is commenting on.
