I wonder if atomic swaps are more expensive than regular exchanges. I have been hearing about this for some time though never used this feature. I assume they make their money on the exchange rates.

In general speaking they are a bit higher them regular exchanges. and
fees are different for every provider, but in general you are avoiding withdrawal fees they use on exchanges.

So they can be even cheaper in some cases

I think Atomic swaps are much costlier than normal exchange and are actually pretty much similar to services like Shapeshift, Changelly, etc. though the actual costs may differ, but on average they take 5% higher than normal.  They can even be too much higher from 5% if the coins we are going to change to is illiquid or too less volume.

I use the Atomic wallet for some time and I am very happy with it. The Apollo wallet looks really great. I will test it later.

I installed Apollo wallet...but it is not so easy to use and installation is so slow, it needs to downlaod complete blockchain. SO far I did not complete any transation or trade, and I am waiting form some big update from them.

I am using Atomic wallet, and it is nice

Yeah Atomic is real good.
I have tried to download the Apollo version for Windows. The download was interrupted twice. I will try it again tomorrow. The Web version looks also great, but I don't like webwallets.

It took me hours just to download the blockchain...and I think Apollo does not have atomic swaps so far,
and that is fastest way to exchange different coins

I suggest to test the Atomic dex. It dont tested it by myself but a buddy was really enthusiastic about the performance. No KYC needed.

I read about atomic swaps some time ago. Has anyone of you experience with arbitrage trading with atomic swaps? For example, is it possible to atomic swap and make profit because the rates are higher?

I have not tried to use it like that. Fees are not that much higher from my experience, as you also save not paying withdrawal fees from exchanges and you get coins directly in wallet

Yes exactly! I was thinking, if you're trading with small amounts, there might be situations where this is profitable. If you're trading with larger sums of money, you might be better of paying the withdrawal fee of a normal exchange.

You can test it without exchanging it Atmoic wallet, just enter ammount you want and it will calculate everything with fees. Then you go to exchange, for exampel Biannce and calculate same thing + withdrawal

Yes , you exchange coins directly without waiting... 
Websites can be risky and scam , but Atomic wallet is tested and working just fine.

This is just false information.
There is no 5% fee at all, and it has not the same as Shapeshift and Changelly as only you hold your keys.
You also save because there is no withdrawal fees, and you get coin directly in your wallet.
You own the keys.

Yes I downloaded the app yesterday and I play with it.
I noticed that it is a bit slow, but I guess that is why it is in beta and they are testing it

Yeah, it seems to lag a bit, but for a beta version it is good. I hope that they release a final version after a successful beta test.

No I don't know about the fees. I saw a video about Atomic Swaps on youtube. For swapping 1.775 KMD into DGB, the fee. was 0.0002 KMD (Transaction fee) and 0.000228 KMD (Trading fee).

That is not bad at all, but wonder is KMD coin going to be needed for trading or other coins can be uses also. I tried to ask them in discord, but invitation is not working

This thread is about Atomic Swaps and not the Atomic wallet. With the Atomic wallet you can swap coins but there are high fees. We are talking about Atom Swaps on the AtomicDex. Here you can swap coins with low fees.

I checked it in the app. You can swap all coins. I transferred Doge and DGB and can swap into every coin in seconds. Really nice tool.
