Is Bitcoin mining bad for your computer?

Recommended Posts

Downvolt your videocard for decreasing some risks and use it for mining. There's not any damage for your hardware, it's just calculating.

Из своего опыта могу сказать что ДА. майнинг любой криптовалюты с помощью вашего компьютера является очень плохой идеей потому что вы можете испортить и перегреть свой процессор.

Yes, you will most certainly overheat your computer.

Causing irreversible damage to your hardware. There is no point in mining bitcoin with your home computer. To mine bitcoin you need an ASIC machine.

The point is not in damage to the computer, but in financial result... You won't get any profit by mining Bitcoin on CPU. It's a waste of time and money. It's more reasonable to mine Monero on CPU then. If you have GPU power then you can mine ETH or some promising ERC-20 altcoins. But to mine Bitcoin...You need Asics and a lot of power. Initial investments can start from millions of dollars.

There is no sense to mine BTC on usual desktop. Its perfomance is too low for mining bitcoin. ot is much better to use Asic

yeah. i think its not best idea to mine in computer that u use to play games. hardwares are gonna to die. also in mining farm in 1 motherboard u can mine in 6-8 videocars. and u buy most cheapest cpu. so its much more profitable

Mining is constantly using all computer resources with maximum power as you can, and yes, this is really bad for your computer, constantly high temperatures and unstoppable work will cause a lot of problems with you graphic card or cpu, so be careful!

At this point you should take into account what you are risking and what you will gain, since a pc is not made for mining, a high level of processing, this will get is reheating your processor and other components this will be affected and reduce the life of each of them, not to mention that you should leave the pc long time on, this is another advantage the energy you spend will be much, and you should see if it's worth what you earn for this

Yes, PC time isn't for me, and I can't think of it from now on! You need to buy a heavy machine that can solve the algorithm for you! Other difficulties (physical and malaria control) that must be faced after mining starts.

There are many mining locales in the market. Some are acceptable and paying destinations, and some are not paying and counterfeit locales. I don't care for mining destinations since it pulverizes and destructive your pc.

Yes, mining sites on the computer are a lot of tired because they may burden the work of the computer and consume a lot of energy, but in order to avoid this problem, I think there is a possible solution, and I will discover it soon

Mining Bitcoin from the computer has become very difficult and also consumes electricity a lot. You can mine other currencies that are easy to accumulate

If you do mining in your computer it might reduces the speed of of your computer because mining crypto requires a a large amount of electricity and device should be fast

Of course it's bad you want to get some satoshi, you got a broken computer LOL

If we can make a lot of money with mine in pc we should do it all,but not finally you will got nothing

Mining bitcoins and ethereum with your computer using Minergate is surely the easiest way to do mining at home. It does not require special equipment or high computer skills, and it is also a fun experiment. It simply requires installing a program and pressing the mine button. However, it is advisable to read the previous points of the tutorial so as not to have false expectations, as I provide an honest vision of the current operation of mining.

Another option would be to mine with Antminer equipment, which requires an initial investment but produces more benefits, as it is based on Asic technology (the latest generation of miners).

In the early days of Bitcoin, when it only existed as the only cryptocurrency, it was possible to mine with CPUs, or in other words, with our home computer.

Today that has changed.

The constant increase in difficulty and competitiveness among miners has meant that there are two types of hardware to mine with: ASIC chips and GPU cards.

ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) chips, or also called Application-Specific Integrated Circuits, are chips whose function is to perform a specific and particular task, for example to mine only the SHA256 algorithm.
These machines are the most widespread in Bitcoin mining. However, they could be used to mine other coins. This will depend on the algorithm to be mined for which they are designed.
For example, if an ASIC chip is designed to mine Dash's X11 algorithm, it will be useless for mining Bitcoin.
The GPUs (Graphic Processor Unit) or Graphic Processing Unit is what we know as the graphics card of a computer.
They have a higher 'hash rate' or mining power than CPUs, which means that they can solve math problems faster. They are the most used for mining Ethereum and Ethereum Classic, among others.
As we explained before, it is important to make it clear that with a GPU we will not be able to mine Bitcoin and that with an ASIC chip we will not be able to mine Ethereum

We have to start from the premise that in order to mine, it is best to have a dedicated 'computer'. Why? Because if you use the same computer to mine bitcoins as you do for work or play, then you're going to have problems. This work, the 'mining', requires all the power of our computer hardware to solve complex operations constantly. And this means that we cannot use our computer's performance for other tasks. Furthermore, if we try, we will cause the mining to be slower and, therefore, the options for 'cost effectiveness' with respect to energy costs will fall dramatically.

if we mine bitcoin with a normal computer, it seems that we will not get maximum results because our computer will not be able to crack the scripts from the current block and it will only damage the hard disk on our computer. maybe if mining new token tokens are still capable.

I think that it is unrealistic to mine bitcoin at home. Can you tell me what an ASIC machine is? How expensive is it and how difficult is it to operate?

This option is not recommended for specially those whose graphics card is not have enough power to make mining. for example: if your card gives you 100 hash rate then you may not get the profits. the result of this mining performance are very poor. if you have good graphics card and computer then you can try it. i suggest moneo is good and profitable.

Mining on your own machine is very bad for me as it is considered as destroying your machine
There are better solutions such as mining platforms
