Dear newcomers,
First of all, welcome all of you to this beautiful forum.
Before getting started in the crypto field, make sure you are aware of the following misconceptions. I have created this topic to help the novice in the crypto world and I hope it will help you.
Bitcoin is followed by an organization This the most common misconception that almost every newcomer has. Actually, Bitcoin follows the decentralized system and it is operated by the crypto community so there is no central entity to control it completely.
Bitcoin is just for tech-savvy people It is not true. If you have the basic knowledge to use some software to install and send or receive crypto by using such software, it is already enough for you to get started in the crypto world.
Crypto is a ‘Get Rich Quick’ scheme I have found so many newcomers entering to earn money by doing nothing in the crypto world. Actually, you need money to make money off crypto trading. The principle is pretty much clear, "Money attracts money". Simple as that.
Crypto and Blockchain are the same This another misconception. I remind you guys once again, Blockchain technology is more than a financial tool. It has a wide range of applications in this real world. Blockchain consists of immutable sets of data and Bitcoin is a virtual currency based on blockchain technology. Not only for sending or receiving payments, but blockchain technology can also be used for other purposes too like voting confirmation, fraud prevention, etc.
Cryptocurrencies are backed by nothing It is not true. Cryptocurrencies are perfectly backed by technology and the crypto community.
Do you have anything to add here? Highly appreciated. Thank You😊!
