Udemy is an online educational course provider that raised $421 million, selling 14.5 million shares for $29 each. This gives it a market value of $4 billion and it began trading on the Nasdaq on Friday under the ticker ‘UDMY’.
 
Udemy provides video courses in many subjects such as web development, business and marketing. The demand for online learning has increased due to the pandemic and Udemy operates in a competitive landscape alongside big names including Coursera Inc and Linkedin Learning. The company is banking on remote learning trends continuing, and it remains to be seen whether there will be a long-term shift.
 
The stock started trading on October 19 at just $9.95 a share and closed at $94.95 a share three days later. It triggered a GameStop-style trading frenzy resulting in 12 trading halts on Friday, as Bloomberg reports. At the time of writing, Ethereum was down by 0.32% to $4,580.35. A mixed start to the day saw Ethereum rise to an early morning high $4,604.00 before falling to a low $4,577.13.
