Facebook doesn't own the Libra cryptocurrency project alone, there are other reputable global companies involved in the project like Uber. But it is sad that Paypal has pulled out of the association. It would have been great to see a financial service giant like Paypal go crypto.

some people can't wait to see LIBRA compete with other altcoins namely Ethereum or Ripple, but many people also LIBRA will replace BTC😎

It is a possibility due to the reach of the social network facebook, but I think it will be a hard task since Bitcoin has its rank and merit for being pioneer and also continues to adapt to the new times, as is the case for example of the development of Lightning Network. Bitcoin gives competition.

I think it will be a giant currency and compete for the rest of the currencies because it will be very popular especially as it belongs to the social networking site is very popular in the world

To this is added the fact that the platform is already widely used as a means to market new and used products. With this, Libra will surely become a resource that will further boost and strengthen this trend.

Libra, Facebook's cryptocurrency, continues to encounter major obstacles along the way. Five renowned companies have announced that they will no longer support the project. We talked about Mastercard, Visa, eBay, Stripe and Mercado Pago, organizations that played a fundamental role in the social network strategy.

I think yes, With the biggest social media platform and also their marketplace feature how if facebook intergrated it with libra like some e-commerce out there, Non-tech people will start using Libra for payment and blockchain technology will be known other people through libra.

Yeah, that statement above makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Libra hasn't been launched yet, and it probably won't be.  The partners that dropped out of the project probably know this, and that's why they dropped out.  The U.S. government doesn't want corporations creating money, that's the bottom line, and they're going to do everything they can to stop libra from happening.  I'd be willing to bet money on it.

The fundamental problem is that, contrary to Facebook’s narrative, Libra is not simply a money transfer scheme. Once launched, Libra will spawn an entire ecosystem of financial services and service providers — authorized Libra dealers, brokers, asset managers, custodians, exchanges, digital identity providers, verifiers and so on — whose identities and qualifications we cannot yet anticipate. These entities may be controlled by Facebook or by other corporate members of Libra Association, operate across multiple financial and commercial markets and not be subject to appropriate supervision and oversight by financial regulators.

I think facebook brings a revolutionary change in crypto industry by bringing their own crypto asset libra. Facebook is a most used social platform at present. So libra helps to rank the crypto market quickly. I think it is a plus point for crypto industry.

There are so many oppositions on it's launching and their partners are leaving them, we will have to see if they will have an impact on the community, once they launched their Libra Coin, there are oppositions but there are many supporters also.

Even if Libra is released, it's only going to be used inside facebook so what's the point? It's not a token like BAT which can be exchanged. And even then, how much of the 2.2 billion facebook users will know how to use it or what cryptocurrencies are in general? Actually for most of them, they're not going to recognize it as cryptocurrency because that's not what facebook is advertising it as, there using more like "Send me money here  thanks".

Why are you looking for another faucet in signatures like mine, cryptotalk is the best earnings site. 😉

Libra project team announce they will launch libra on next year 2020.but i think they will not succeed .If FB uses libra as a stable coin, they're going to run into the same problems as other money remittance companies, which is having unproductive capital parked in banks making absolutely nothing.

Not something to be surprised anymore. Since everyone already knows this, what needs to be considered is related to the release of the libra. Will it really happen in the middle of this year or be delayed again.

Yes, the release of libra will introduce to the mainstream what cryptocurrency are and will benefit not only bitcoin but also the other altcoins because once people understand the potential earnings they can get trading this coins then there will be new investors that will energize the exchanges causing cryptocurrencies to rise in value because of the new influx of capital. Libra on the other hand is also a good coin to invest in since it will corner the facebook market which will make it the most widely used crypto currency online.

On 18 June 2019, Libra was publicly announced. Morgan Beller, David Marcus and Kevin Weil (VP of Calibra's product) are the coin's creators. In 2020, the first release is planned.

Yep, maybe. Well I have 50/50 decision about it. Yes, it can help to cryptocurrency spread or been known to the world. Its because many people are using facebook nowadays. But it can also be a future competitor or bitcoin if it be popular in the future.
