It always depends on what you consider as 'heavily'. For example, if you have quite a lot of stagnant, non-moving funds that doesn't do anything, sitting on the bank and waiting for such a slow interest, and you are fond of risking it anyways because it is only 'extra' for you, then there's nothing wrong with speculating with cryptocurrencies.

There are no riskfree investments anywhere yet investors are among the richest people on earth. That goes to show that there' s no problem with inventing, problems only begin to arise when we failed to invest wisely or allow greed to becloud our minds.

If you got the knowledge and skills to select and trade a right coin, nothing stops you from investing heavily in the coin for as long as your living expense is outside of your investment. Worst case would be to patiently give it sometime to settle.

Remember that the higher you invest, the higher the risk that you are facing, on the other side, the potential profit is also higher. I really believe that if you want to invest large money on some crypto, go invest on bitcoin. This is the safest way that I can think to avoid losing. Just wait until the price of bitcoin went down, then buy it. Sell it at high price.

If you are so sure about your instinct, you probably would invest too much. But I suggest that you do not do this to avoid losing as much as what you spent, unless you studied first the market and read some articles about the movement of a coin in a few days.

It is not safe to invest too much. You will be lucky if you make large profits that you are hearing left and right. Most of the times you will find yourself being in doubt and end up selling at the lowest point possible. You will buy back at a point close to the top and it will start dropping once again. it is not risky at all you should use stop limite order to stay safe so you dont lose if anything happened to the coin

Depends to what, when and how you invest. Take a look at the charts, there are some that are -99.97% down from ico price. If you trade with leverage you can lose everything. But if you have to ask that question, you haven't done enough research to invest at all. Random people from the internet can give you stories, not answers.

Well the question is not if it is safe. The CMC is worth around 230Bn$ dollars, ofcourse it is safe. The question however is, how to invest and where to invest and when to invest. If you can't answer these three properly, ofcourse it's not safe then, and its better you don't invest at all.
