That's a pretty simplistic view of what makes bitcoin popular, but there's probably some truth to it.  I don't think if bitcoin was a stablecoin it would have anywhere near as many people who are passionate about it.  That's why coins like libra will likely never catch on, too.

Actually, every other cryptocurrency is as volatile as bitcoin, only bitcoin fluctuates so much and the price difference is so big.
