Robonomics Winter School 2022: the Robonomics team invites you to take part in a free online training course regarding the Internet of Things

From February 22 to February 28, Robonomics Network experts will hold our third education fest “Winter School 2022” - here they will share their knowledge and experience in the field of the Internet of Things and modern web3 technologies, as well as demonstrate the use of blockchain applications (DApps) based on Robonomics. Exciting lectures and practical classes are waiting for school participants in an online learning format. Every day there will be a new lesson available, containing the most valuable knowledge in the fields of IoT & web3 technologies.

The Robonomics Network is an open blockchain platform for IoT infrastructure that supports a new generation of Internet technologies and our goal is to nurture the development of Industry 4.0. The Robonomics blockchain is operational as its own parachain on the Kusama relay chain (the wild cousin of the Polkadot network) and it can be used to create custom applications and web services for the Internet of Things.

In the Robonomics network, IoT devices exchange data in the form of blockchain transactions, creating an integrated ecosystem where users can interact with robots through web services and applications.

Why are we launching the free Winter School?

The goal of Winter School 2022 is to teach students simple ways to use web services and applications for the Internet of Things, and it is also important for the team to show in practice how the Robonomics platform works and simultaneously teach you about it’s value for society.

The objective of our Winter School teachers is to show how to use decentralized applications to control smart devices and help you to understand complex scenarios. The idea is that any user can solve everyday tasks related to smart devices/robots using Robonomics and other web3 technologies.

In addition to lectures and practical exercises, Winter School participants will receive assignments to consolidate their knowledge, and at the end of the training, Robonomics will raffle valuable prizes among those who were able to complete the course in its entirety.

 

The Robonomics Winter School 2022 Program

This year, the third festival of online education known as "Winter School 2022", hosted by the Robonomics Network team will take place. Interesting lectures and practical tasks are waiting for you. They are aimed at using decentralized applications (DApps) and web services in the field of the Internet of things and Industry 4.0 to solve everyday problems.

The first lesson starts on February 22. Classes are held daily until February 28. At the end of lectures and practice, you will receive exciting tasks that will help you better understand the material received and get to know the mechanism of Robonomics better.

Day 1: Broadcast in black mirror

In the first lesson, you will meet the Robonomics team, after which you will move on to solving the first task. Would you like to see your reflection in a black mirror? We will show you how to do this in practice!

Day 2: Diving into Whitepaper
This theoretical lesson focuses on the first of three sections contained in the Robonomics

Whitepaper 2022. In this lesson you will learn:

What are the current trends in Industry 4.0;
What are the actual problems for the Internet of things which have to be solved in

order to move the field onto a new level of automation of the economy. Day 3: Using Kusama for a smart home

In this lesson, we will analyze what Kusama is, and how to connect up a smart home hub to control IoT devices on the Robonomics parachain on the Kusama network.

Day 4: Introduction to the Robonomics architecture

The theoretical lesson is devoted to the second chapter of the Whitepaper. You will learn how the IoT market has evolved over the past 10 years, what problems developers face in this area, and how web3 technologies help to solve them.

Day 5: IoT subscription to the Robonomics Network parachain

This lesson consists of two parts. Throughout the theoretical part, you will learn about the life cycle of the XRT token, and in practice you will try to purchase, activate and use an IoT subscription on the Robonomics parachain.

Day 6 - Day off
There will be no classes, so participants can take some rest or:

Take classes that you missed;

Do your homework if you didn't have time to do it;

Repeat what you have learned so far, in order to understand it better.

Day 7: Final day of the Robonomics Winter School 2022

We will summarize and draw valuable prizes provided by the Robonomics team. We will reward active participants of the Winter School with certificates, Robonomics branded merchandise, SLS-gateways with an annual subscription, native XRT tokens and Razer gaming peripherals! Then we will talk about the launch of the new areas of the ambassador and grant programs, the rules for participation in them, and will discuss the Robonomics Academy as well!
