Have you ever been hacked from an exchange where you were holding coins ?

Recommended Posts

My account hasn't been hacked yet but the crytopia exchange where I kept the ETN has been hacked and is not likely to get it back. Yobit quite reassuring.

I have never face this types of issues, but we have to be conscious about our money. Cause there is lots of trap and scammers those who are trying to steal your money in a different way every time. That's why i would like to recommended you  to choose a reliable and trusty exchange.

I haven't because I was sending the crypto I was buying in wallets so I wasn't exposed in any exchange hack. But the exchanges I used did not have any hacks except Binance.

Many exchanges have been hacked and some have stopped working because the hack made them lose a lot of crypto. The users paid too in these occasions as the exchange could not cover them. There have been many big hacks but most were not affected the users.

I had some coins on cryptopia, the exchange in New Zealand. Luckily it was not a big amount, had some bitcoin on it to buy other coins. Which now turned out to be sh**coins. Bad Luck for me. But maybe I will get something back, because the process of liquiditation is still ongoing.

Currently, I have never experienced a hack on the exchange that I use. The hacks that have occurred on several exchanges have worried me because the funds I have are on many exchanges. For that I am now starting to move funds to myetherwallet wallet, and only half of it is on the exchange. That way I think I can minimize the risk of getting hacked.

If I have heard several stories that have been hacked by exchanges and then it is a bad thing that exchanges exist, since it gives them a bad reputation that exchanges do that kind of thing since one trusts their cryptocurrencies to keep them safe not to be stolen.

The exchange I use is still safe, there is no sign of hacking, I currently trust 2 exchanges namely yobit and my country's local exchange. In anticipation of this, I always keep a small amount of crypto on the exchange, only for small trades, and I keep the rest in a safe and confidential wallet.

All the forums I am using have good security features so it is impossible to get hacked whilst you have 2 factor authentication turned on. I urge you to increase your security and enable 2 factor authentication.

I have never faced this types of issue, and i have never deal with a big amount of money. The place where we store our money at first we consider the security of the money as well. The security of the exchange is so much high and its required a lots of steps to transfer the money.

I am not very old member and just for a few months in crypto world but I haven't ever had this problem. Although I learn from posts in Cryptotalk there have been so many incidents that makes you feel scared. I trust a few websites that I know they are clean and have strong security and support as Yobit so I am feeling safe there.

@yonkii Your trust for yobit is really deserves appreciate. In this week, We saw yobit down 2-3 times for few hours. Many haters told in social media that yobit is gone with our money but they returned again after stopping those DDOS attacks. I also trust this site very much because it changed my life.

Ni I haven't experienced this so far and I know that this would be a very bad feeling. I don't have so much crypto so far in my wallet but once I have I will not keep it limited to one wallet. I will make several wallets on different exchanges and distribute my crypto there

I haven't been hacked and I didn't lose funds from an exchange hack, but I know many that lost funds in a lot of exchanges that were hacked in the past and most of them were small exchanges and when hacked they had very few traders. Except MtGox all the big ones didn't let their customers pay for the damages.

There were hacks in Kucoin and Binance the last years but they didn't affect the wallets I had there and I can't say if my wallets were hacked too but the funds stayed there when I checked again. I didn't have much but if this was a case of cleaning accounts they would have taken everything from whoever they reached.

It is very awful for an investor to deal with something like this but unfortunately some smaller exchanges don't have high priority security.

If you think that investors can only buy Bitcoin from crypto exchanges then it is not the only way. For investors with higher funds and for institutions they can buy from Grayscale. This is the legal way in the USA and it is approved by the SEC too so it makes it easier for funds and wealthy individuals to buy from somewhere and be insured there won't be a hack they can lose money from.

No I have never experienced such an horrible thing , imagine the lifetime savings you have stored of using cryptocurrency investing being taken away by some stranger with a laptop. I use really trusted wallet known as wazriX , hopefully it won't get hacked.

No, not yet and I am hoping that I would never have to experience that kind of unfortunate event. I would say that this kind of problem is the fault of the developers and moderators of that platform since they are the one who are maintaining and fixing all of the issues of that platform and other any thing else that concerns the websites welfare. I would say that this might also be some kind of scheme towards their action of fraud since this kind of things is very particular when it comes to tricking other users to invest in their platform and suddenly their investment would disappear.

I have never been hacked to any of my sites or accounts in the past ... Always the level of my security is at the maximum stages offered by the site
I know there are some clever hackers out there, but I don't think I have problems with anyone trying to hack me.

In my experience, I have yet to encounter such an unfortunate event of being hacked. Just so you guys know, to avoid or prevent this from happening, always do research and do not interact with suspicious sites/ads.

No exchange is free from hackers no matter how safe it may seem. For this reason, we must always take the proper precautions and one of the main ones is to activate all the security protocols of the exchanges, such as the double authentication factor. And what is also recommended is to keep only the amount of coins that we need to trade in exchanges.
