Only few exchanges and most cryptocurrency platforms  would not ask you for KYC thesedays. The authorities have demanded companies to impose it on their users so they can still have a window to monitor people's finances. But you can say no to that and employ other options for the services rendered by exchanges and there're a number of them.

Well, I am currently residing in Gulf countries and sad to say I am still in the waiting list until now. I already transfer all my funds to yobit so that I can trade as well.
