Should I invest in ICO or altcoins?

I would go for altcoin. Recently, ICOs are much of pitfalls with a lot of pumping and dumping activities which makes investors lose. I am not rulling out the legibility of ICOs but before I can invest in in them, I would need to view the whitepaper and read about the development team. I can't afford to lose on scam project easily. For now, I will take on Ethereum and ripple for investment.

Altcoins is also a name for Initial Coin Offerings tokens or coins aside  Bitcoin. So, the heading is some how trivial since ICO's are in altcoins.

ICO's are also about altcoins which are not listed on exchanges yet but are doing some crowdfunding and see how it goes. While most ICO's were fake a few of them managed to do very well as EOS. Still all altcoins are extremely risky as investments and in my opinion should be treated as a way to earn more Bitcoins when traded back.

It is best to invest in promising new altcoins at the ICO stage. Then you can get a lot more xx than after the coin was released on the exchange.

@Calvinpriva Scam projects have found ICO as the best way to sell their peanut (Useless Tokens/Coins). I never prefer to invest in any ICO hosted by the new projects. Nowadays, a serious problem is most of project demand KYC to participate in their ICO.

@Whited35 Yap, that is really a serious problem because i can't upload my documents in any ICO project. But i think there may be legit ICO projects but the problem is to discover them, maybe!

Yes, it is very hard to detect the projects are real or fake in the crypto world because trained scammers manage to exhibit their project the most authentic. Even if some projects list their tokens/coins on the exchange, they are themselves responsible to dump the markets, how crazy 😂?

Still I didn't invest in any ICO because I heard so many times two years back ICO good for investment, but present time most of ICO are fake and not profitable,

in my opinion invest in already well established altcoins its better, and remember yobit also conduct ICO if anyone want genuine ICO then participate in yobit ICO.

Looking in present context, I will suggest you to invest in altcoins because now the ICOs are not paying well and even more scam coins are releasing due to great success of ICO in the market. But now altcoin will be more profitable than ICO.

It's good before but it's not good to invest on ico as many airdrop now are not legit and seems as scarm.

For İCOs yes and at the same time no. That depends on which project that you thinking to invest. 

For Altcoins, if you think tha project is worth for invesment and their team is promising for improvement in project; yeah you can invest.

ICO is certainly obscure, I would state it isn't sheltered to put resources into ICO, not before doing investigate on the undertaking behind it, yet I have never put resources into ICO, I have just put resources into IEO which is another methodology I think more dependable, yet ICO, I actually think that its unsafe.

ICO has long been dead. I think you should just ignore the release of new projects. This is a real extortion of money. now it is better to look towards new developments

Personally,I think that investing in ICO is a bad idea, so you can easily lose them, and if you invest,then a small part, although now ICO has lost its popularity and it is a waste of money and time

I don't recommend ICOs, as many have mentioned that is's a scam area now. Really it has always been with big risks of a scam. So altcoins is a win any day. But only altcoins with good community and visibility, not a hideous ones.

Currently there is a lot of market in coins, you always have to do a lot of research if we like any of them to avoid scams, but it is better to play it safe and invest in what is already stable.

Yes its good profit in short time but the risk is so high ! There is no guarantee you will  get profit ! All depends on what exchange it list and how people accept it
