Well they are both crypro currencies so therefore they are both fluctuating with the market but I think etheruem js good because it has morw liquidity but again I'll say that ripple has some good pumps every once in a while.

it's hard to choose. both of them have their own advantages. ETH and XRP have some active project. their developers and their team still develop and improve their technologies. XRP has a cheap price and always make a good partnership with some companies. ETH will improve their technology to Ethereum 2.0 and there are still a lot of people that interested in ETH. but i will support ETH more than XRP.

yea etheruem marketcap is way bigger than ripple but i remember for a few days in this year ripple was able to dethrone etheruem from the spot on number 2 but it didnt last for long.

ETH will win the competition because ETH is a high rank coin this time after the BTC and RIpple coins now so much high if the XRP will touch the 50$ this time then ETH will also touch the 5000$ because now XRP is on 0.21$ and ETH is on 155$ and there is a big difference between these two coins.

Ethereum always one step  ahead of XRP. always it stays at 2nd position. and Xrp sometimes own 3 and sometimes stayed at top 5th position. But all we know that, XRP has the strong future of crypto world. even it may goes to top priority or even surpass the bitcoin because its not only a coin. its a bank which trying to regulated all kind of functions.

I chose ethereum, we must say ethereum has high value and volume. Even XRP has good movement but replacement ethereum is more like dream. People more trust ethereum and that why until now become the best second coin after bitcoin, can XRP do that? NO.

ETHEREUM has a bigger community, they started since 2014, XRP is more centralized project, they are making partnerships with commercial centralized banks, not that much future to become truly decentralized.

This is a good aspect that you mentioned that the XRP is not completely decentralized while the ethereum network is a decentralized network and in addition to that it is continuously developable in addition to the many features that it has, especially smart contracts.

I could never stand ripple, as it's a centralized coin that's about as useless as any other coin on the market.  I'm really not sure why it's so popular, but a lot of people posting here and on bitcointalk seem to like it.  I'll pass, thank you very much.

 

Now Eth on the other hand is a true crypto and if devs would ever figure out how to use its platform for *useful* projects, it would probably explode in price.  Not to mention that it's going proof of stake next year (or next month I think, but no difference), which means it'll provide an opportunity for people to earn some passive income with it.  That's an awesome attribute in my opinion and my guess is that it might turn people on to other pos coins.

 

Ah, if I only owned 32 Eth...but I'll get there, I tell ya.

I totally agree with you, Ethereum is an old and strong currency, and this is known to everyone, but Xrp is also a promising and wonderful currency  and can have a great future as it is classified as the third currency after Bitcoin and Ethereum.

I voted XRP to win over ETH but it may be a surprise why. Right now ETH is worth much more, but XRP has the backing of the financial system. I think that banks are more comfortable working with Ripple than they are a decentralized currency like ETH because it is bound in regulations that they can control, and if there are legal issues they can resolve them, where with ETH any legal issues with banks using ETH there is no one to pay the price.

Thanks for your vote, and I think you are one of the few people who voted for Ripple, but the explanations you gave are very convincing. Indeed, I think many banks and even governments will work with Ripple more than Ethereum because it is decentralized.

I think price is the most attractive feature of any currency so in this case ethereum is master of xrp secondly xrp is centralized, controlled by banks so xrp can not compete ethereum.

In my opinion ripple can beat ethereum only at total marketcap value. But ripple can never overtake ethereum price at all. But both have a huge potential on crypto market.

yea i think we have been seeing this competition for so long now and even a while ago we saw ripple overtake the number 2 spot from etheruem but then etheruem reclaimed its position again in a few days.

I don't see any competition between both why people start such things as Etherium wins because of people trust and most tokens are dependent on Etherium only.

I am hoping Etherium would rise more than $500 in 2020 as per my prediction, but this happens only if Etherium has limited supply.

No one doubts that Ethereum is much better and has a great future. But Ripple is also good and can have a future. But would you really expect ETH to reach 500$ if that happened I would be very grateful to you because I keep a good amount of it.
