Bitcoin is the most famous cryptocurrency, now it is as a symbol of the entire cryptocurrency, like the ETF of cryptocurrencies. If a newbie wants to invest in cryptocurrency, most likely he will buy Bitcoin. Moreover, since the price of many cryptocurrencies correlates with the price of bitcoin, it is easier to buy it than to fill a portfolio with a bunch of different incomprehensible coins.

Defining the price of Bitcoin is very difficult, digital assets obtain their price from supply and demand, so you cannot tell if a price is high or low because it depends on speculation.
In my humble opinion I consider BTC as a store of value and represents "Good money", one that cannot be controlled by any entity, provides privacy and is decentralized.
In conclusion, it is always a good time to buy BTC in the long term.

Bitcoins have value because they are useful as currency.

It has the characteristics of money (durability, portability, fungibility, scarcity, divisibility, and recognizability) based on mathematical properties rather than relying on physical properties (such as gold and silver) or relying on centralistic authorities (such as fiat currencies). With these attributes, all that this kind of money needs to maintain its value is trust and adoption.

In the case of Bitcoin, we can measure it with its growth in users, merchants and nascent companies. Like any currency, the value of Bitcoin is obtained alone and directly from the people who want to accept it as payment.

The leading theory investors have about bitcoin's impressive valuation is that the cryptocurrency will soon benefit from large injections of institutional money from Brokerage Houses and Financial Markets through the introduction of the first BTC futures products.

Bitcoin is not expensive. It's a ~$200B marketcap.

-50x from here to surpass gold

-100x to surpass USD

-Start thinking in sats: there's 210 Trillion sats up for grabs - start accumulating as many as you can!

-They're going to be worth a lot more in the mid to long-term :)

BTC is an expensive coin because it currently covers the financial markets around the world and there is incredible demand. It all depends on supply and demand, it is also a cryptocurrency that is used as a price reference for the value of other currencies. Other than that, the cost of maintenance and mining is somewhat expensive. Its use increases every day. It went from being a simple cryptocurrency to a currency that will have a lot of future.

one of the reasons is its popularity all over the world, especially due to the fact that it was the first and that gave him a lot of time to consider its value in fact if you ask a person who has little knowledge about cryptocurrencies it is very sure that only They know bitcoin, because of its popularity and age, many people see it with greater confidence in a highly fluctuating market and that increases its value.

Hello, I do not agree that bitcoin is expensive, in my opinion at the moment BTC is cheap, when it breaks the resistance of 12000 and consolidates, I believe that it does not return to more than 10,000, we must take advantage at this time, nor the covid 19 could with BTC:

Because it is the oldest currency and basis for the idea of crypto, and because of the intensity of investment demand for it and its wide spread, all this led to an increase in its price in this way.

I agree with you, bitcoin has gained universal popularity in all corners of the world and inspired the trust of millions of people all over the world. Well, as the author pointed out, anonymity. I think this is the most important factor affecting the price

Yes I also think that since Bitcoin is expensive, it has a large number of users, but banks are quicker to do Bitcoin transactions .But it is wrong to say that the more people buy Bitcoin the more it will higher its price.   It seems to me that the price hike on the part of the not  customers does depend on the market

The reasons why Bitcoin is so expensive are the limited number of tokens, which is 21 million, the anonymity of transactions, the increasing demand for the currency

It reveals hopes of making a positive impact even in the most desperate economies. This naturally paved the way for many investors to invest in cryptocurrency. Thus it became the most valuable currency that surpasses its competitors with its system.

Hello! Bitcoin is so expensive for several reasons: A limited number of tokens in 21 million. according to calculations, the last bitcoin will be mined by miners in 2040, every 4 years there is a halving and the reward to miners is reduced by 2 times. The anonymity of the transactions. You can transfer any amount and your wallet will never be able to track. Supply and demand. The more people buy it, the more expensive it is. The speed of transactions when compared to Bank transfer. You can take a loan in bitcoins and pay them in stores.

in general, I agree with you that bitcoin is really expensive for the reasons listed above, however, it is not anonymous, as many think, all transactions are stored in the blockchain, and not in all countries, bitcoin can be freely paid in stores.

Bitcoin is expensive due to high demand and low supply even circulating supply is less then total supply that is why btc is expensive and other alternative coins are in low prices.

Well, what you say is true, bitcion is also the mother currency and its price always greatly affects the others, which do you think is the solution that the price of bitcoin conditions the other cryptos. Cheers

People are interested in Bitcoins because uts price is changing every hour. And there are only 21 millions Bitcoins. 21 million is not enough, because BTC is going to be world currency. That is why Bitcoin is so expensive and its price will be more expensive after 5-6 years. I think so.
