What to do if sent LTC to BTC Address (Yobit.net)

Recommended Posts

In the end, have you contacted yobit support? wht did they say?

usually sending funds to the wrong address results in loss of funds, but as you are sending to an exchange, maybe there is something they could do... I'm curious if you managed to get it or not... (maybe you already posted it on previous pages, but I didn't find it)

When you generate an address on an exchange, i hope you remembered the warnings given. Do not send any coin aside the specified coin to this address. How do you think bitcoin wallet on exchange will house litecoin? To put it mildly, you were careless with your funds and i am not sure you can recover what you sent to the wallet again

I totally agree that i was careless, but i did a transaction like this, carelessly and it was rejected by yobit and funds returned, I think my money was not lost but stolen.

Thanks in advance.

you think you have sent your LTC to a Btc account but you have actually sent them to an old LTC account, "3K58FRK6UTosR8CTEYnWKo7GW9E3G485Uy"
A simple tool that converts between old and new p2sh addresses LTC "MRHGZJj4RafJDdUMLRmr9SMfpqpVGEFwa7". These addresses are the same in reality and if it is not yours you have lost those ltc.

in your case, the transaction could have failed, but if your LTC was sent, it would be impossible to return it, and maybe you can contact the cutomer service on yobit for your problem. some exchanges do not accept complaint human nts errors transaction actaully

No recuerdo tener ninguna dirección LTC aparte de yobit y estaba enviando esas monedas desde yobit, ¿de dónde crees que vino la dirección?

From yobit where did you send it? Write me by message to see what you can find out.

I think you lost your money, you should check the address before accepting the transaction. Some exchanges have a feature that allows you to cancel the transaction.

Wow is really sad to read this, but I'm agreed with the majority of the community comments here that your coins are lost, the exchanges generally warning people to not confused the wallet address because the result is lost of coins. I hope you can sort any solutions to your problem. Good luck.👍

Did the thread starter solve this problem? I see that the transaction has been confirmed by the miner and I don't think it is possible for the yobit to help you because the transaction is irrevocable and has been confirmed. I am also curious about how you use the btc address and how that even can be confirmed ?, lmao I am interested

I also think about that, why the bitcoin address can confirm delivery, there is indeed a slight resemblance between the BTC wallet and LTC, but that does not mean we can send LTC to the BTC wallet, usually the system will detect the wrong address before confirmation transaction.

That's why it's little bit strange but I tried to find random address on bitcoin explorer and input the address in LTC explorer, the result is that the address with the beginning of 1xxxxxx will be detected invalid address but the address with the prefix 3xxxxxxx will be detected valid, So I guess he lose its funds. I don't understand why it could be like that but I'll try to find out.

Some exchange write "transaction error is not the responsibility of the exchange", and there is also a writing stating "only to make ethereum deposits, you'll lose your fund if you send other eth coin", so I draw the conclusion that this could happen  , but I have experience entering the wrong address and there is an error in the address

Yes you lost your money and it cant be refunded. Because you send your litecoin to bitcoin address. You cant do anything about it just learn your lesson and be careful next time when you deposit again. I feel bad for you.

Exactly the money is lost yobit can't help you get back your funds, this mistake you be made in the first place all the exchanges have a strong warning telling you to check your address before depositing, but people don't follow.

Yeah he lost his money, there is no way of getting it back, he should be more careful in the future, exchanges support don't give any ear to problems like this.

You are right. Exchanges always give a strict warning about sending funds to always double check the address before sending. By this incident i think he will learn his lesson from this.

We all need to learn from this mistake and still the money lies in the wallet, but who will get those funds? If the exchange site won't recover those funds then how can we say our funds are safe. This will happen with anyone, but the wallet address should be different or Litecoin shouldn't accept Bitcoin Address.

Exchange only guarantees our funds when they are still in the wallet exchange and I think they have no responsibility when transaction was already confirmed by the user and they are broadcast tx to the miner, the problem is actually on LTC Blockchain because I just found out that as @dhemasm said that Addresses starting with 3 are detected as valid on LTC Explorer, you can try it yourself.

I have seen that Transaction, but I was asking why this guy is unable to send back from his exchange wallet? If this is a large amount, then how can we control it. We all earn very hardly so investing into such things is a worse scenario.

in crypto if you send the wrong one it is very difficult to return.  my advice is you better study again and be careful in making transactions so that you are not mistaken.

I don't understand the meaning of your question, can it be a bit clearer or simpler? My English is not very good and I have tried to translate your question but still don't understand.

I thought two wallets was owned by him, but he said in his past post the LTC wallet is mysterious one. It looks like someone tried to steal his money, I am not sure on this.

A miner have to pick up a transaction to confirm. Now when there will be not much fees then miners do not show interest to pick up a tx and then that stays for long time in the pool. After a certain amount of days (not sure 5 o 7 days or more) the tx drops from the pool and this way you get your money back.

I never had this experience but this I learnt from observation.
