Is Ripple the same as Bitcoin?

Recommended Posts

They are not the same because BITCOIN is used as a payment method, speculative asset and store of value. However, Ripple wasn't developed as an alternative to cash. The fundamental goal of Ripple is to make banking transactions between different types of currencies less expensive and more efficient.

They are not similar, there are big differences. XRP is what Ripple decides, they hold the coins and have central validators that can also block funds in wallets. Nothing compares to Bitcoin in these terms, XRP is very centralized and it can be even stopped from running if the SEC decides that.

I have to disagree with you my friend, there is no cryptocurrency like Bitcoin , it is the leader of the markets and the queen of all currencies, and XRP is a good currency and no one can deny this but to say that is like Bitcoin is a huge mistake no other currency has the liquidity Bitcoin has, and no other currency has the popularity it has.

No they are not the same, because ripple is centralized and bitcoin is decentralized, as for the matter of fact I can say ripple is not even a real cryptocurrency.

Unlike Bitcoin, Ripple is not designed for mining. Percent  percent of the ripple tokens are in the hands of ripple companies and bitcoins are issued by people all over the world.
