Self-moderated Topics?

Recommended Posts

As a programmer, making a algorithm that checks your own topic or post must be a hardwork. As time goes by, i think our admins and moderators will create that system to prevent this website in any further spam attacks. But as a forum users, let us just report those shittyposters and spammer for us to also contribute here.

actually it's not really hard to check if the content is yours or not as I'm a web developer and I know this

but I think it's not really a good idea to do such thing

I think this is a needed feature now with all the bots and spam. It would reduce the work load on the mods and allow genuine, proven company owners to clean up their own posts.

My threads are drowning in spam and bots now. Its hard for anyone serious to sort through it.

I would suggest that a company who wants to maintain their own thread has to prove themselves. But, if shown to be a scammer, they should lose that privilege. This would let the community intervene in some way to prevent scammers from running loose.

The reason that they don't allow users to self moderate their topics was because activities and posts are still being paid hence making a user moderate his own topic would make a huge change to the forum's campaign.

I never collected and dont care about the pay for comments. I suggest we remove payments now anyway. The contest is over and bots are taking over just for the pay.

Self moderation is a good idea. But higher rank moderation will be controversy for the effectiveness of the forum. There are enough moderators to delete the unauthentic and spam messages. If Admin think, he needs more moderators for the forum than he can choose from senior members for the moderations. I think admin can add an additional option to avoid or hide any topic. It will be better.

Right way to go but I am afraid with the fact that even when your posts and comments are deleted by the moderators, you can not see it on your comment counts. So if powers is given to thread owners, how will the forum manage comments being deleted by thread owners? I think the site should work more on the forum. Lets see this phase as beta testing phase of the forum

There are some forum tools that let mods to hide posts, or move them to a hidden area. I think project owners could hide these posts from the public and then a mod could check the post and decide if to delete them or move to a hidden area. So the mods will have the last word if to delete something and have a neutral stand on the post.

I agree that any company running their own thread needs to prove themselves. One way is to take responsibility is to report those evil bots so they are removed. If those companies running their own threads aren't taking care of their feeds then what make anyone think they will take care of you as their customer?

ALWAYS DO BACKGROUND CHECKS! Get people's full names and check their history. What projects have they done in the past? Are they still viable today? Track records and experience means everything when investing in crypto currency.

Some topic starters would not be good self moderators as they lack people skills in general, seem to have unreasonable history of deleting posts or whining to the moderators about problems they themselves start.

There needs to be a better way to communicate with the mods. The current system is broken and is biased/abused by certain members.

I think this feature will be available in the near future or maybe next month. This will help the authors to manage his post to prevent unrelated comments.

I would like to ask moderators to give some of the users right to create self-moderated topics.

Why?

Some project owners are leaving the forum because of spam posts being posted non-stop on their topic.

Solution:

Give project owners the right to self-moderate topics and erase spam (if they want)
and also give the same right to higher member ranks.
Thank you for consideration

I think you misunderstood the post you just cited. It states that any thread owner that is promoting something (IEOs, exchanges, etc) could be able to moderate their threads, like, hide spam or trolls in their threads. It is not implemented in the forum, is a suggestion. It's a way to alleviate mod's work a little.

But that is available and you can edit on your topics as you like but that is not in the long run
So do you mean to allow this in the long run because that will cause a lot of problems because of it

I think the admins of this forum should work and be improved  this forum.I think different project owners should be given some advantages as they come up with different projects and mention that people can benefit from them but considering them well ,

This must be implemented in this forum. We, the creator of topics, should have full control over the topics we created. We cannot always contact the moderators to lock our topics because many members are posting non-sense in that certain topic.

There are two side of effect that could happen if that feature will be implemented soon which is bad side and good side. It is good to moderate your post if you want to change something but it is bad when the user are deleting some comment that against to them. That's what i think. Do you get it? Sorry for my english.

For now, there will be more bad benefits because it will be abused by users. I do not recommend this at all as long as the campaign is running.

This will be a great help especially for the moderators. Because of no. of users in the forum its kindly hard to find all the overflowing comments in every topics. I mean is to give the user an ability to lock his or her post not actually deleting the spam comments because only admin have a right in that.

It will be good way to inspire any new project owner to promote there project by the forum. I think admin should take the right action for this.

I'm actually afraid that if a higher member or project owner can moderate themselves, there will be chaos because of their actions. there must be members who disagree because of that it can refer to their own actions without thinking about others. I think this is good, let the admin and moderator do the work. so if they want to moderate themselves, please just raise their rank to become a moderator in this forum, that would be fairer to all.

Yes some rights should be given to the project owners so that they can self-moderate their topics and avoid spam posts of such projects because it distracts users from the main points and users avoid such main topics because of spams.

It is a good idea to add that function, clean the spammers forum and copy / paste and also add a report hat allows you to inform them and keep a record, meanwhile it is better to report them and wait for the administrators to take care of it even if. The best we can do is report all bad posts and try to make the forum clean of spam

well we all seem to be on the same page but the moderators still not giving this idea a green light, which could mean they dont trust the members to use it wisely.

I definitely agree with you. Admins or the cryptotalk teams know their job,so let them do it. Allowing us to moderate our self can be abuse by others. Not thinking other members and use it as personal purposes.
