Most traders have experienced the following situation in their trades. Suppose you buy a coin at a certain price and decide to hold it for some time to earn profit. You wait some days but suddenly the price starts going down and if you are a panic seller, you may sell your coins at a lower price and lose money. If you don't panic, you will hold them more until the price rises again but you may have to wait for a long time. But there is another solution to save you time and money. When your coin's price is going down, you can convert it to another coin whose price is going up. By doing this you can save your investment and cut losses. For example, if bitcoin price is decreasing but Litecoin price is increasing, you can convert your BTC to LTC immediately to stop losing more money and even gain some profit. It happens for all of us that we buy a coin and we face with some unpleasant losses quite unexpectedly. In this topic I'm not going to talk about the reason of loss (either it is the news or luck). I only want to talk about recovery and compensation. Imagine you have bought an altcoin and it caused you some losses but after your selling, it suddenly starts rising again! You will usually get angry at this point and regret that you have not waited a little longer! What do you do in this situation? Do you trust the coin for the second time and buy it again or ignore it completely? Do you switch to another coin? I think investing in the same coin will increase the risks for more losses.
