Tomorrow, Oct. 8, will mark my one year of surviving in the forum. And to commemorate it, I will reverse my previous stance against "following" other members a bit and will now follow back the ones who have been with me all this time.
I will now follow back the members with the following criteria:
- Active members
- Followers before tomorrow (cutoff time)
- Jr. Member rank and above
- Not yet banned
No other bias aside from the above mentioned.
List of followers who made the cut:
@AkaCrafterCZ @alexisfuentes @Ashsh @Babubu609 @begdaukus @bitcoinb @cryptoya11 @kryptonick @Ndayebo8 @redamoun @rekter @Syedbesharat @Whited35
Thank you for following me all this time.

I like the drama here:
and little did they know that they had a shitposter right in their midst:
https://cryptotalk.org/profile/11009-omoajisola5050/
Offensive post:
Original post:
The little prick has been dealt with, of course. Via the [report post] button.
Why not post this on the [Report Plagiarism] thread? I prefer reporting shitposters there en masse, to make whiners who say I get paid for reporting there shut the f*** up.
Posting there DOES net you 1000 satoshi via the pay-per-post rule. Posting only one person per report will definitely look bad: one person per post equals 1000 satoshi. If I do that, that would mean I only report for profit, which definitely doesn't sit well with me.
Should I show this to them? Nah. Let their egos fly high over there, I'll just sit here and enjoy my pocorn 🍿 in the meantime.

It's been a while since I popped out the popcorn on a topic. Here's another one:

Question: Why am I inactive?
Simple and quick answer: My computer broke down.
Long explanation: Just like I said, my computer broke down. And I'm not going to compromise myself by going active on other IP addresses and/or devices.
I had to ask a friend of mine (ignorant to crypto and certainly doesn't own an account here) to let me borrow his computer for a bit so I can post this message. Mods, if you find some issues like possible multilogin or whatever, please give me a break.
Until I can find a way to fix my computer or replace it with a new one, I won't be active for a while. Fear of possible multilogin, hacking, etc., those kind of things, you know.
To everyone, if you have something to say to me while I'm gone, just give me a PM or reply to this post. Until then.

I just noticed that we have a new admin on our forum:
https://cryptotalk.org/staff/
And for our new admin's first post, here it is...
https://cryptotalk.org/topic/21309-news-about-the-price-of-bitcoin-and-its-change/?do=findComment&comment=7201569
Errr... uhmm... I'll just describe my comment on that post in a picture below.
SpoilerDerp.

(I have no inclination to post this anywhere in the forum except here.)
With the way things are going now that we have a new feature announced, once the people picked up on it and an influx of new users increase as a result, there is now a possibility of users who will exploit this opportunity to do things up to no good. Things like shitposting are of course still fairly easy to detect, but no longer so with reputation abuse now that users giving them out are anonymous. Due to this, I have already raised my concerns on the subject (and a few more) in a post but have yet to receive a statement from the mods on the matter. Well then, we'll see how things fare in a few weeks or so if the mods can handle the extra work of detecting reputation abuse without help from normal users. We users in turn should step up on what we can do to help, whether correcting erring members, simply reporting them, or whatever.
As for users' concern about the profitability of the new tokens that are replaced from the previous 1000 sats per post, my theory is this: based on the mod's announcement that the "demand for the token from advertisers is high" as he puts it, once we users sell our tokens on Yobit, the advertisers (aside from other opportunistic buyers) are obliged to buy the coins (via a trading bot or manually) and has the option to sell these coins back to Yobit (through means I am still too ignorant to put into words as of this moment). These coins Yobit got back are then used to pay this forum's users for posting, and the cycle continues thus. Long story short: advertisers are the ones who are paying us for posting, in a way; doing sig campaigns therefore would be optional. (Again, this is only a theory and may not be entirely correct.)
Already I am seeing signs of increased activity in the forum (and not all of them are good ones), but once the token becomes available for trading in September, the 'fun' part may really start here. If the tokens become popular and expensive, with 10 TALK tokens (new rate per post) becoming more expensive than 1000 sats (old rate), we might see increased activity that is comparable or even exceeds the activity of the first 3 months of the forum. But if the token turns out to be a shitcoin, then in a worst case scenario, the users' furor on the matter might force the management of the forum to take drastic measures (I'll leave what those are to your imagination).
Some members might be happy with the recent change, but I am still wary of it. This forum is walking on a dangerous tightrope, and I think the majority do not, or refuse to, realize it. I really hope the management knows what they are doing, since I find the activity here more enjoyable than the pay-per-post and don't want it to end so prematurely. In the meantime, we should do what we can to help, like what I said above.
(For members who want the link to this comment of mine, here it is: https://cryptotalk.org/profile/2378-kyoukage01/?status=597&type=status .)
Spoiler(Hmmm... users won't be getting paid for posting here, but will do get paid for receiving 'likes'. Very well, if I find the comments here useful and interesting, I'll give 'likes' on the scale of how good it is. A good post is a bloody good post, after all.)

I was monitoring someone who is suspicious of 'farming likes' and was about to PM a mod about it, but it looks like I was late: he already got banned today.
At least the mods are weeding out potential reputation abusers even without help from us regular users.
I'll be rooting for the forum staff, keep up the good work. Woot, woot!!

OK, now I'm mad.
It's not everyday that Cryptotalk has an original article made here but...
The article I created exclusively for this forum was deleted.
Apparently some F***in' a**hole copy/pasted my article on a news website:
And now it looks like I am the one who did the copying instead. WTF!?
Oooh, I'm going to raise hell indeed. Nothing sinister, the honorable route of course.

Justice has been served, the true culprit has been banned, and my topic has been restored. My anger has been sated.

@teminalibug My computer problem is more on the hardware side - I've traced the problem on its motherboard. It may take a while before the friend I "contracted" will be able to find a suitable replacement.
Or maybe if I can somehow make our older computers here to work by salvaging some parts, I might be able to at least get one to be able to surf the internet.
As for my mobile phone, mine is a 10-year old Nokia model, which I have no inclination to replace yet, LOL.
I'll be back momentarily after I fix things up here. Just because my country happens to be one of those omitted from the pay-per-post doesn't mean I'll quit being active here right away.

I am now waiting for the drama to unfold in this thread:
https://cryptotalk.org/topic/64843-how-much-money-cryptotalk-have-paid-the-members-untill-today/
https://cryptotalk.org/profile/115686-muhammadsh/
Not only is this user possibly blatantly copying someone else's work, he has the bloody gall of begging 'likes' for it. LOL.
Why was the original thread deleted in the first place? Does this user has something to do with it? Anyway, the original creator has already been informed, and he might have something to say about all this.
We'll see what will happen in the next few days.

Now that the 'police thread' is down, violators have breathed a sigh of relief. This motivates them to do what they are best at doing at, that is, spamming shit all over the place.
https://cryptotalk.org/topic/20971-ctorg-police-station-ps/
Now there are simply too many shitposts and shittreads to report, and I find it too time-consuming to track them all down and report them one by one.
@hexwin's report thread is only limited to plagiarism, and thus is inadequate, even improper to report other offenses like reputation abuse, scam PM's, the ever-popular off-topic spams, etc.
Since it has come to this, I will now decide to focus on a few threads to track them, specifically, my own. For a long time, the threads I made are a natural 'death trap' for shitposters, and I'll tighten the leash on my threads even further this time. I'll stop looking for them and let them come to me instead.
I will still report shitposts on other threads I've visited, of course, but I will not be able to catch them all this way. I will leave them for others to find and report, and I will trust that they do the right thing.
Maybe now I can finally post more than a couple of contents per day this way.
-
No offense made, don't worry. I rarely get offended with others' opinions, even negative ones.
Too bad we can't really do any discussions on that thread - Desais forbade it.
QuoteThis topic already exists in the Russian section of the forum, so I decided to try it here, in fact you can ask your questions, and we will try to answer them.
Only admins or moderators have the right to respond to other people's messages.Don't worry though because there is a similar suggestion:
Who knows? Reporters might get paid this time.
Let's see what the mods' next move will be. It will be up to them whether they pay us for reporting or not.

You got warned? Awww. Maybe not enough evidence to damn the offender? Now I'm the one who's getting discouraged here 🙁 . Were you just warned without being given warning points or anything? I hope so.
... ... ...
Want a sample of said 'professionals'? Just type in "general chat chat loung" (with quotes) in the search box and behold the users with messages that includes that phrase .
That user (assuming it was the same person) got smarter ever since one of his earlier accounts got banned and hanged on public display. His posts are now harder to catch, since they are mostly not spam and not copy/pasted, albeit still obviously of low quality.
If you see some 'general chat chat loung' posts out there, maybe you can check out and see if it violates anything. That user still has the gall to shitpost from time to time.

Still, I get this nagging feeling that our efforts are still not enough. We definitely need more members who actively report.
And I think we are dealing against 'professionals' now. That is, people who make it a job out of creating multiple accounts just to farm satoshis off this forum. If one or more of their accounts gets banned, all they have to do is create another one. IP blocking as countermeasure? They have disposable prepaid internet and VPN to solve that.
They might be even housed in some sweatshop at who knows where.
*sigh* At least if it weren't for us reporting, things could have been worse.

I do whatever I can to make this forum better, but the sheer number of shitposts everyday are simply too overwhelming.
We users in the English section are already hurting. Signature campaigns are already available in the Russian section since last month, and a mod announced that there aren't any yet in the English section due to too many spams. Well, I really don't care much about the sig campaigns, but there are plenty out there that are really looking forward to it, and that opportunity is lost because of some rotten tomatoes who shitpost only for profit.

The feeling where you spend more time hunting down shitposters than posting quality content 😡. And I'm not even getting paid for it, yet there are users who claim that I, and other reporters, do. Yet, somebody's gotta do it, or else this forum would be drowning in shitposts by now.
At least I noticed that there aren't as many shitposters nowadays as it used to. The forum staff has done a great job in cleaning up this site so far.

Nope, I wasn't been banned from the forum or anything. I merely took time out this holiday season.

And I thank you for the occasional pat on the shoulder.
EDIT: Hah! Just caught two copy/pasters for today. Quite the cunning way they did it too: one used too many synonyms to make it look original, the other used THREE posts in one. Already reported those via the [report post] button. No need for a 'like' reward on this one, since I have nothing to show for it.
Update: I got 5 in total for today! Hah! Now for that good night rest...
